Review of Xeneon Edge Mounting Bracket

My Take

Since I received my Xeneon Edge, I have been trying to decide the best way to attach it to my rig.  I went through an iterative process and was excited for an official product from Fanatec.   Overall, the Xeneon Edge Mounting Bracket is very well constructed and matches the XE in fit and finish.  It allows for a secure attachment to either your wheelbase or sim rig itself.

My previous setups used a swivel mounting arms usually used for cameras or stream decks.  Both allowed for greater degrees of flexibility than the Mounting Bracket, but felt less secure.  For me, I needed to use the Mounting Bracket combined with an aluminum extrusion swivel arm to allow for a firm attachment and have the XE placed where I wanted it.

What's Included

The Xeneon Edge Mounting Bracket includes everything you need to mount the XE to either your Fanatec Wheel Base or Aluminum Profile Rig.  It only took a couple of days to arrive after placing the order.

I was reminded how strong the magnets are for the Xeneon Edge.   It is best to use the two 1/4"-20 screws, but the magnet held strong on its own.

I decided to attach the Xeneon Edge vertically.  I ended up using the pivoting button box arm from ASR to attach.  This was a  secure connection that allowed me to place the XE  to my side with the flexibility to adjust the positioning easily.

Cable Management

Once the Mounting bracket was attached to the arm, it was a simple process of using the thumb screws, and magnets, to attach the XE to the mounting bracket.

I ended up routing the HDMI and USB-C cable through the side gap of the XE.

Final Thoughts

I went through a few iterations of connecting the Xeneon Edge to my sim rig and found the official mounting bracket the best option.  It is a secure connection that allows both vertical and horizontal attachments.  It feels extremely secure as I could use both 1-4"-20 connection points and the strong magnets.  The pivoting arm helps bring the screen closer, but it would be great if the mount allowed the XE to pop out a bit.
